Raymond Liu
Councilmember Raymond Liu is the youngest person to be elected to Fremont’s City Council and proudly represents District 6, the community where he grew up. A product of Fremont’s public education system, Councilmember Liu attended Horner Jr. High, Irvington High School, and Ohlone College, where he earned three associate degrees in math, natural sciences, and computer science. He later transferred to UC Davis, earning his bachelor’s degree in computer science. He has since built his career as a software engineer, working at various tech companies in the Bay Area.
Deeply connected to the Irvington area, Councilmember Liu’s upbringing in Fremont has shaped his commitment to public service and advocacy for his community. One of the reasons he decided to run for office was to ensure that all residents of Fremont could have the same opportunities and successes that he has been fortunate enough to experience. His election to the Fremont City Council marks a historic milestone, bringing a fresh perspective to local leadership.
Councilmember Liu is deeply committed to community work. He serves on the board of nonprofits such as Citizens for Better Community, where he helps promote civic engagement and supports local causes. Additionally, he gives back to Fremont, the city that has played a big part in shaping his values, by volunteering at various events and initiatives.
Councilmember Liu strongly believes in the power of collaboration and wants to make Fremont a better place to live. He is committed to working with community members, local organizations, and his fellow City leaders to strengthen the City’s sense of community and increase new opportunities for local businesses and residents. His focus is on creating a community where all voices are heard and every neighborhood feels safe and valued.
