Bio
Gary Singh is currently serving his first term as Mayor of Union City. He was first elected to the Union City Council in 2016 and, in 2020, was the first Councilmember to serve District 1. Previously, he served as a Union City Planning Commissioner from 2006 to 2014. Mayor Singh is a small business owner and has been a Union City resident for over 25 years.
Mayor Singh has been an active board member of the Union City Friends of Sister Cities since 2010. He previously served on the Union City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2009 to 2011 and remains active in several charitable organizations, including Union City Youth and Family Services (UCYFS) and the Alameda County At-Risk Youth Program.
