Hedding St.   |   San Jose, CA 95110 1.   Call to Order and Roll Call. Present: James Gibbons-Shapiro, Farah Hasnat, Nicole Steward. A quorum was present. The meeting was called to order at 9:01 AM. 2.   Public commentary for items that are not on this agenda. Margaret Petros made public comment asking that Lydia Harris be appointed to become a full member of the CAPC from being a Community Advisory Member. 3.   Review and approve prior meeting minutes of October 10, 2025. Hasnat made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by James Gibbons-Shapiro. Motion carried. 4.   Discuss / Approve Committee Business. a.   Discuss recruiting efforts to fill vacancies Discussed, including that the Clerk of the Board has an internal list of who the Clerk suggests fill the next vacancy on the CAPC   –   the Maddy List. Will obtain a copy of this non-legally binding, suggestion document from the Clerk of the Board. b.   Discuss progress on Mentors for new CAPC members Discussed the idea of having a few designated mentors for all. We will make a call for mentors. We will make a one-pager reference guide for new members. Member Steward will create a draft. 5.   Announcements. No announcements. 6.   Adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 10:00 AM

Child Abuse Prevention Council of Santa Clara County FY 2026/27 Membership Committee Work Plan and Budget Committee Chair: James Gibbons-Shapiro Committee Purpose:   To nominate potential new members of the Child Abuse Prevention Council to the Board of Supervisors, and works with the Board of Supervisors to ensure that we have a Council that has no vacancies, and a membership that is diverse in every way. . Goals and Objectives   Proposed Activities   Timeline   Personnel   Budget 1   Provide a forum for Membership cooperation and coordination in the prevention, detection, treatment, and legal processing of child abuse cases. The Membership Committee will work with the Board of Supervisors to maintain balanced representation on the Council.
