Bio
Alameda County Supervisor Nikki Fortunato Bas represents the District 5 communities of Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont, West Oakland, North Oakland and portions of the lower and upper Oakland Hills. Since joining the Board of Supervisors in January 2025, she has championed immigrant and refugee rights, housing solutions, early childhood education, and equitable access to healthcare.
She is a lifelong community organizer, daughter of Filipino immigrants, and the first Filipino American elected to represent Alameda County and Oakland, where she previously served as the President of the Oakland City Council.
