Under her guidance, FUSD continued its tradition as being one of the top-performing school districts in the nation.
In 2024, as President of the FUSD Board of Education, Vice Mayor Zhang championed Measure M to provide future obligation bonds of $919 million to renovate and build state-of-the-art school campuses, ensuring a brighter future for Fremont students for generations to come.
As a Fremont City Vice Mayor, she is committed to leading with a bold and visionary agenda. She remains a staunch advocate for quality education and workforce development programs to empower future generations, and with her diverse expertise and unwavering dedication to open, transparent governance, she is committed to guiding Fremont with passion, purpose, and integrity.
A Fremont resident of 20 years, Vice Mayor Zhang arrived in the United States to pursue a master’s degree in physics and later a PhD at UCLA. Her career spans the high-tech industry and business ownership, combining analytical expertise with pragmatic, hands-on problem-solving skills. This diverse experience has shaped her innovative and solution-driven approach to governance.
In her personal time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring nature, often hiking with her husband and their two dogs. She is also a proud mother of two children: one a graduate of FUSD and the other a current high school student.
