November 2026 Elections — Mayor, Districts 2 & 4, and the City's Direction

activedublin
Dublin's November 3, 2026 election is the most consequential since the city adopted district elections in 2022 — with the Mayor's seat up citywide and Council seats in Districts 2 and 4 on the ballot simultaneously. The City Council formally called for a General Municipal Election on November 3, 2026 and adjusted the deposit amount for candidate statements at its June 16, 2026 meeting. Dublin voters in Districts 2 and 4 will participate in a district-based election in November 2026, with the Mayor's seat also up for election citywide — meaning three of the five elected offices will be decided simultaneously. The Measure II divide — which split the Council 3-2 on both the original ballot placement and the decision not to appeal — will be a defining fault line in the Mayor's race, where incumbent Mayor Sherry Hu was on the losing side of both votes. The outcome of all three races will determine whether Dublin pursues a more development-friendly or open-space-protective direction for the next four years.
