Steven Dunbar
Steven Dunbar was elected to the Livermore City Council representing District 3 in November of 2024. He continues to work as an engineering supervisor at GILLIG in Livermore, designing transit vehicles that provide mobility options for people of all ages and abilities. Prior to his election, Steven served on the Asset Management Outreach Committee (CAMP) and the Livermore Planning Commission, with a major focus on transportation infrastructure maintenance and planning. Steven strives to provide effective and pragmatic leadership within Livermore’s budgetary limits, maintaining the infrastructure we have today while carefully balancing tradeoffs to provide for the future.
Steven has served as a board member for Bike East Bay, which provides education for kids and adults learning to ride bicycles as well as technical support to cities for effective street design.
He has also served as an Executive Committee member for the Tri-Valley Sierra Club. Steven grew up in Arroyo Grande, CA and graduated from the University of California Davis with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. In his spare time, he enjoys running with local running clubs, playing drums and saxophone, and riding his electric motorcycle on the back roads of Livermore.
