Evan Branning

Evan Branning was elected to the Livermore City Council representing District 1 in November of 2022. Evan currently works as the culinary and leadership teacher at Village High School. He and his partner enjoy living in Livermore so much they were wed at the Gazebo by Mayor Marchand.

Prior to joining the City Council Evan served on the Livermore Planning Commission, Livermore Human Services Commission and Alameda County Public Health Commission. He also continues to serve on the LARPD Foundation board. He was a key player in expanding the Foundation board and helping launch their first major fundraising event “Wine Down in the Grove” which helped raise funds for LARPD’s scholarship program. Evan also worked with the community to help form the groups Unify Livermore and Tri-Valley Transit Coalition to help citizens engage in the political process of issues important to them and our community.

Professionally, Evan was a trained chef who worked primarily as a personal chef and caterer in LA before becoming a teacher. His first teaching job was at the San Jose Job Corps. He is very happy to be able to continue the work of helping students who have struggled in traditional school environments at his current job at Village High School. Most recently he has finished the Master Gardener training and been awarded a bee grant for two beehives to expand the opportunities for hands-on learning.
