Andrea Pappajohn
Vice Mayor Pappajohn represents District 1 on the Burlingame City Council. In this role, she represents the City of Burlingame on the following regional commissions: Chair of Airport Land Use Commission, Emergency Services Council, and City/County Association of Governments Legislative Committee. She also contributes locally as the Chamber of Commerce Liaison, and on the City/Schools Liaison Committee and serves on the following City committees: Dog Park Advisory Group, Chair of Economic Development Subcommittee, and a high priority initiative, Vision Zero.
Vice Mayor Pappajohn is a sustainability and climate action professional with more than a decade of experience developing and managing environmental programs across the City of Burlingame, City of Millbrae, and San Mateo County. She championed the strategic development of Burlingame’s 2030 Climate Action Plan, which is Burlingame’s roadmap to reducing annual greenhouse gas emissions 40% by 2030 in the City and our community.
Beyond her environmental work, Vice Mayor Pappajohn has supported active, healthy lifestyles for residents of all ages. She joined the City Council after serving on the Parks & Recreation Commission, where she was Chair in 2023. From 2009 to 2020 she mobilized Burlingame’s AYSO community to donate thousands of gently used pieces of soccer equipment to less fortunate children in four countries (called “Recycle Soccer Gear”) which was recognized for Recycle Soccer Gear’s positive impact on our community by AYSO’s National Office. Other volunteer efforts to promote active lifestyles have included the Dog Park Advisory Group, Pickleball Task Force, Burlingame Youth Baseball Association (BYBA), Art & Policy Advisory Committee, Laguna Park Playground Committee, Age-Friendly City of Burlingame Task Force (2022), and American Youth Soccer Association Board Member Region 63 (2012-2020).
Vice Mayor Pappajohn has been a resident of Burlingame's District 1 for more than two decades, where she and her husband raised their 3 children.
