For 10+ years, Matthew Hudes has served Los Gatos as Chair of the Planning Commission,
Planning Commissioner, Chair of the Historic Preservation Committee, member of the
General Plan Committee, the Housing Element Advisory Board, and others. Working with
the Los Gatos Police Department and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), he
has worked to improve emergency communications in the face of new disaster
challenges.
Currently, Matthew serves as CEO of a biotechnology consulting firm, having retired as
U.S. Managing Principal, Biotechnology for Deloitte and played a similar role at Ernst &
Young. In between, he started and grew a software/bioinformatics company in Town.
FAMILY
Matthew and his wife, Qui, chose Los Gatos as their home in 1987. They remain excited
and committed to the wonderful Los Gatos community. He loves the character and spirit
of Los Gatos, having grown up in a small town himself.
Matthew appreciates not only the beauty, architecture, history, and sense of place, but
also the legacy of innovation in Los Gatos. Their children, Colette and Simon, attended
the excellent Los Gatos schools and are now on the east coast, hoping to be able to
return one day.
