Terry Hines

ouncilmember Terry Hines was elected to Campbell City Council in 2024. Prior to being elected to City Council, Councilmember Hines served as a Planning Commissioner and a member of the Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee for Measure O. He was also active as a Chamber Board Member.

Terry was born in Detroit and grew up in the North Shore suburbs of Chicago. Terry met his wife Mary in Evanston, IL, just after college and were married in 1979. Terry has a BA from Ripon College 1977 and an MS from University of Nebraska 1980. Terry was recruited by Hewlett Packard in 1982 as a computer system analyst working in various roles, and finishing as a sales executive with early retirement in 2005. Terry co-founded and has owned a high-tech small business since 2006 with a strong team of computer techs with many and varied business clients. Terry and Mary have enjoyed living in the Chicago area and Silicon Valley. They have loved living in their Campbell house since 2007 and have 2 married children, and 2 grandchildren.

Terry's wife retired after 30 years of social services and teaching. After she retired, Terry felt it was his turn to give back to the community and started working with Campbell community organizations. Terry enjoys sailing, boating, golf, and Chicago/San Francisco sports teams. Terry takes every chance he can to travel, explore the outdoors, and cycling.
